Location and Date: Shenandoah National Park – Front Royal, VA – October 2010
The Details: Ian, Kathleen and 2 year old Liam met me at the Shenandoah National Park for their family portrait session. We drove along Skyline Drive and stopped off at certain scenic spots for different portrait photographs. Liam was shy at first, but once we started walking through the woods and climbing on rocks for some photographs he had a blast!
Testimonial: “I am so thrilled with our photographs. After seeing Aaron’s work online I had high expectations and he definitely didn’t disappoint me. Aaron was really easy to communicate with throughout the entire process and I was shocked with how quickly he delivered our photos. I was worried that our very active 2 year old would be tough to photograph but Aaron was very patient and had some great ideas to get him to look at the camera. I cannot wait to display our pictures. Thank you for everything!” – Kathlene Courtney

Location and Date: Harpers Ferry, WV – November 2010
The Details: During an engagement session at Harpers Ferry, WV, I was taking some photographs of the couple by an old stone bridge structure when the sun began to set creating a breathtaking scene. I snapped a few quick shots and this was one of the results.

Location and Date: The Blandy Experimental Farm / State Arboretum of Virginia – Boyce, VA – October 2010
The Details: One thing I love about engagement (or e-sessions as I sometimes call them) are that some couples ask about bringing along their dog to be part of the shoot. While photographing pets has a whole set of its own challenges, it often results in some very nice photographs of the entire family (groom, bride and pet). Jesse and Ashley brought along their pooch, Loki, to their engagement session, and you can see the results below!

Location and Date: Jim Barnett Park, Winchester, VA – October 2010
The Details: This was a fun session of a family of four at the local Jim Barnett Park in Winchester. The Mom requested that I take portrait photographs of the entire family as a group, but try to mainly focus on the two daughters…who came to the session full of creativity, ideas and suggestions for photo ideas (which I always welcome).
Testimonial: “Aaron was very pleasant and fun. He made us feel comfortable, was very professional and welcomed suggestions. We really enjoyed the variety of natural and fun poses skillfully incorporating the scenery.” – Cindy McCoy

Location and Date: Romney, WV | October 2010
The Details: Sam and Annette told me they were fun and laid back people when I first met with them, and their wedding day certainly lived up to their reputation! The highlights included a very sweet slideshow presentation about them prior to the ceremony, a bride entrance to rock music with a sunglasses-wearing father of the bride, wedding cake-in-the-face smashing, good food, tons of laughs and good times. Congratulations to Sam and Annette!

Location and Date: The Nancy Shepherd House Inn Bed and Breakfast; Winchester, VA; October 2010
The Details: There were four people present at Bill and Stacy’s wedding…Bill, Stacy, the officiant and myself. Held at the historic Nancy Shepherd House in Old Town Winchester, the bed and breakfast served as an intimate setting for a special moment shared by a special couple. Growing up as childhood friends and eventually falling in love with one another via a long-distance relationship, Bill and Stacy used Winchester as their meeting point for several years to spend time together. They chose to be married in Winchester with no guests…only someone to perform the ceremony and someone to document the day through photographs. I was honored that they chose me to share this moment with them.
Testimonial: “You were a part of our time together but didn’t interrupt our intimate moments. I appreciated your ideas for the photos you took. You captured the romance and emotion of our private day. The best compliment I can give to you, Aaron, is when Billy and I recite our vows again for our families – I’d love for you to be there taking the photos!” – Stacy Merrill
