The Date: August 7, 2010
The Location: Harrisonburg, VA
The Details: Frank and Katie met while attending James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Being a special place to them, the wedding and reception was held in and around the JMU campus. I held their engagement photo session at the JMU Arboretum this past spring, so it was great to return to the Arboretum and take some of their wedding photos there. The wedding was held in a beautiful church (First Presbyterian Church) in downtown Harrisonburg. Afterwords we traveled to the JMU Arboretum for wedding party photos and took some in and around the JMU conference center where the reception was held. I’m convinced that the hanging willow tree at the Arboretum was made for wedding photos…it never lets me down for capturing a beautiful photo. Congratulations to Frank and Katie!
The Testimonial: “When planning my wedding I knew there wouldn’t be a huge amount of time for pictures after the ceremony and before the reception. However, Aaron did amazing at staying within the time constraints that we had and the pictures turned out to be fantastic! If I wanted a particular style of picture or wanted to make sure certain people were in the picture, Aaron made sure to do so and was always open to suggestions. All I had to do was give Aaron a location and he was able to use what was there, such as a gazebo or willow tree, and turn it into beautiful, breathtaking photos which are now hanging on my wall!” – Katie

The Date: August 10, 2010
The Location: Sherando Park, Stephens City, VA
The Details: Nichole, mother of Tommy and Christian, wanted to do something different for portraits of her children. Growing tired of the “same ole, same ole” from standard department store portrait studios, she contacted me to take photographs of her children. I suggested we take the photos at a park where the children could play and be themselves, which would help me capture their true personalities. The session went great, and both Tommy and Christian were awesome to work with. We all had tons of fun, even in the upper 90-degree temperatures!
The Testimonial: “I am very pleased with the way Aaron worked with my boys. He was so patient and made it a very fun photo session for them. Normally I would be stressed out trying to get them to smile but he was able to get all of these awesome photos and keep all of us happy at the same time. He was fantastic about letting me know when and what was happening with my pictures. He also works very hard to get everything to you as quickly as possible. I am so impressed I will be contacting Aaron for future family portraits and will never go to the photo studios at department stores again.“ – Nichole

The Date: July 31, 2010
The Location: Oakland, MD
The Details: Robert and Miriam have been a couple since their childhood, a bond they sealed with their marriage in the country fields of Oakland, Maryland with a pig roast reception held at Deep Creek Lake. The wedding and reception was very family-oriented and family-supported so it was appropriate that I grab a large group photo of the entire family (I used my large ladder to assist me!). Another amazing aspect of this wedding was that the mother of the bride hand-made the wedding dress and wedding cake!!! I was awe-struck with her talent. Congratulations to Robert and Miriam!
The Testimonial: “We were very impressed with Aaron’s professional and kind nature. He was wonderful to work with during our wedding and the pictures! We are so thrilled by the quality of his work. He made even a dungy church basement look good. He captured every significant moment and made it look as beautiful as it had felt that day. He’s definitely a skilled photographer whom I will recommend to all my loved ones. Thanks so much, Aaron!!!” – Miriam

The Date: August 9, 2010
The Location: Winchester, Virginia
The Details: My oldest daughter turned four years old this past week and we threw her a family birthday party over the weekend. She loves princesses, ponies and dinosaurs, but when we asked her what type of birthday cake she wanted she said “a train!”. My wife, being the super creative woman that she is, created a tasty train cake and even found various train-themed party decorations (including a pink conductor’s hat and train piñata) for the party. Both of my kids had a great time, while I spent most of the day thinking to myself “they grow up so fast!”

The Date: August 3, 2010
The Location: My backyard, Winchester, VA
The Details: I love photographing weddings, but during the week I try to mix it up a little by taking photos of different subjects other than people to keep my eyes fresh and challenged. While playing with my daughters outside, our butterfly bush (yes, it is a real type of bush) was visited by a bunch of butterflies and hummingbird moths. I grabbed my camera and snapped away while my kids had fun trying to catch the beautiful flying insects.

The Date: July 24, 2010
The Location: Milton Ridge, Clarksburg, MD
The Details: Ryan and Jennifer (view their engagement session) got married on the hottest day of the year thus far. It was sunny with a high of 103 degrees, but the heat in no way hampered the celebration of their marriage. The ceremony took place in the historic Milton Ridge Chapel, a quaint location for small ceremonies that makes for some great wedding photography with its large windows and entrance door. We had full access to the chapel afterwards for portrait and family photos, which we took full advantage of before taking a short walk up the hill for the reception. Congratulations to Ryan and Jennifer on their marriage and for hosting a beautiful summer wedding!

The Date: July 18, 2010
The Location: Winchester, Virginia
The Details: Chris and Tiffany (view their engagement photo session) met by way of being next door neighbors to each other. They are from Warrenton, VA but both really love the Winchester area . . . so they chose to be married here. While having their ceremony and reception in a hotel conference center, they chose to have their bridal party portraits done at the beautiful Glen Burnie Gardens located at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. We reserved a 1-hour time slot and had a blast taking various photo in and around the beautiful gardens prior to the ceremony. Congratulations, Chris and Tiffany!
Testimonial: “Aaron is extremely professional and friendly. We received numerous compliments from our guests on how polite and cooperative he was during our ceremony and reception. He was extremely responsive and willing to accommodate all of our requests. His ability to capture the moments of our ceremony and reception was phenomenal. Looking at the pictures allows us to re-live the entire event. His pictures tell our story. I have already recommended Aaron’s services to friends and family and I plan on working with him again in the future! He is so talented and gifted and we are so blessed to have found him and have him there to capture our day!” – Tiffany
