My name is Aaron Riddle and I am a professional photographer residing in Winchester, Virginia. I specialize in wedding photography, portrait photography and special event photography needs.
As a wedding photographer my style is unobtrusive, friendly photojournalism. I capture the spontaneous smiles, people living in the moment and details of your day as they naturally unfold. Your job is to relax and enjoy your wedding! My job is to document it for you to relive forever.

Location and Date: Ceremony – Martinsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church | Reception – Holiday Inn | Bridal Party Photos – Bella Vista Home, Martinsburg, WV
The Details: The weather has been on the side of my clients this year. Mark and Julie’s (view their engagement session) wedding was no different. It rained that morning, but the sun came out just in time for the wedding ceremony. Overcast skies (my preference as a photographer) were present when we did the bridal party photographs outside at the beautiful Bella Vista Home. Then the rain finally let loose once we were all inside the reception venue having a great time with the guests.

Location and Date: Old Town Winchester and Jim Barnett Park, VA
The Details: I find that engagement sessions are always fun no matter what time of year or where I hold them. However, when you have a creative couple like Matt and Leah, it takes the sessions to a whole other level! Matt and Leah came prepared with tons of ideas such as Matt wearing his Navy uniform, holding a picnic in the park and playing catch with a football. However the photo I will always remember from this session is the one above…our own personal recreation of the famous “V-Day Kiss” photograph that ran in LIFE magazine when WWII ended.

Location and Date: Family property / farm in Harrisonburg, VA | August 2011
The Details: I really like it when a bride and groom make a wedding theirs as it usually leads to some fantastic and different photo opportunities. Ben and Rachel’s wedding certainly falls into that category. There were so many features of this wedding that were expressions of Ben and Rachel’s personalities: music by fellow music majors from James Madison University, a bare-footed bridal party, a ceremony under the shade of trees and a rice-crispy treat wedding cake!

Location and Date: Mauertown, VA | August 2011
The Details: The Wilt family invited me to their home in Mauertown, VA for a photo session with their newborn baby. She was a natural model, smiling and looking right at me the whole time.

Location and Date: Willow Valley Cultural Center, Willow Street / Lancaster, PA | July 2011
The Details: This was my first time ever photographing a wedding in the Lancaster, PA area, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful indoor venues I have ever been to. Held at the conference center for a retirement community, its high ceilings, pillars and fireplaces made me feel like I was in some sort of royal palace. I could go on and on about the natural lighting and all that photographer talk, but I’ll let the photographs speak for themselves.

Location and Date: Ceremony – Linville Creek Church of the Brethren, Reception – Cornerstone Christian School | July 2011
The Details: Tristian and Heather’s wedding will always hold the distinction of being my first wedding where the bride and groom did a first look prior to the ceremony. The best man led Tristian blind folded to a park bench, where he quietly waited for his bride, Heather, to reveal herself. It was quite memorable, as was the entire day.

Location and Date: Trough Creek State Park, James Creek, PA | September 2011
The Details: My wife redecorated our living room this past week and decided she wanted a canvas wrap of Trough Creek State Park to hang on the wall. It is one of her fondest childhood memories as she grew up a few miles down the road from the park. This was a new and different assignment for me being that I have never set out to take a photograph with the intention of hanging it on my wall for decor purposes. I like to be challenged, so this was a fun and creative photographic exercise!

Location and Date: Cross Junction, VA | July 2011
The Details: When I arrived at George and Alaina’s home for their engagement session, they told me they had made a list of some activities to do during the photo session. I gladly took a glance at the list to incorporate their suggestions when “skeet shooting” caught my eye. At that point I knew this e-session was going to be different and a ton of fun!
