Location and Date: Project HOPE, Millwood, VA
The Details: Mandy works at Project HOPE, an organization delivering health education, medicines, supplies and volunteers where needed to all parts of the world. Project HOPE has a gorgeous facility hidden on a side rode of Millwood, VA. While only accessible to employees and scheduled visitors, Mandy and Jon received permission to hold her e-session there. We also stopped by Burwell-Morgan Mill for a few photographs as well.

Location and Date: Harpers Ferry, WV
The Details: Harpers Ferry is quickly becoming one of my more favorite e-session locations. The place has a lot of character…from the historic town and structures, to the nearby river, mountains and forest. There is a lot of variety in its scenic offerings, which means variety in taking photographs as well! It was great to get to know Chris and Jaely during this session, part of why I encourage all of my couples to do an e-session if they are able to. It is always a great opportunity to not only for me to learn about a couple, but really see their personalities shine through in photographic form.

Location and Date: Edinburg, VA
The Details: The Shenandoah Valley is full of so many unique and beautiful places to take photographs, that many times you are not even aware they exist until suggested to you by someone else. With this engagement session, Jeremy wanted to use his Uncle’s home property in Edinburg. I imagined it would be a nice, well-kept spacious farm with plenty of trees, but what I found was it was much more than that. Full of gardens, a river, waterfalls, giant trees and even a rope swing, Jeremy’s uncle’s home was one of the better venues I have been privileged to use for an e-session.

Location and Date: Ceremony – Market Street United Methodist Church | Reception – The George Washington Hotel – Winchester, VA
The Details: Bryce and Joanne were married in Old Town Winchester and there are two things I will always remember about their wedding day. One is that after the ceremony, we walked through the streets of Old Town and took some fun photographs, including one in a classic car (as part of a car show going on at the time). The other is that Bryce and Joanne shared a moment with one another right before the ceremony without actually seeing each other – by holding hands around a street corner. This was an idea suggested (and used) by her friend, bridesmaid and fellow wedding photographer peer of mine, Jackie Holubz Roth! What a great unique way to share the pre-wedding excitement without breaking tradition

Location and Date: Ceremony and Reception – The Purple Iris, Martinsburg, WV
The Details: Mike and Brooke’s wedding (view their engagement session) was fun, fun and…fun! They truly are a fun-loving couple who were all about having a good time with their family and friends at the Purple Iris on this sunny day in late May. It was great to watch them tie the knot and celebrate, dance and party into the night!

Location and Date: Ceremony - Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Gainesville, VA | Reception - Old Hickory Golf Club, Woodbridge, VA
The Details: I had met Tonya and Darren before at a previous wedding I photographed (Darren’s sister Lisa), so seeing many of the same family members again was a special treat. There was a scare of rain for a bit when we were outside doing some creative photographs prior to the reception, but it quickly subsided (not before I took an umbrella shot or two). The day ended with one of the nicest bubble exits I have ever been a part of!

Location and Date: Ceremony and Reception – Capon Springs Resort, WV
The Details: Living in the Shenandoah Valley, there is no shortage of fantastic venues with spectacular views of mountains and trees to hold a wedding and reception. Capon Springs is no exception. The fantastic weather streak for weekend weddings continued with Jeremy and Lizzie’s wedding. Blue skies, a gorgeous sunset, mountains, ponds and one awesome couple made for another fantastic wedding weekend!

Location and Date: Ceremony – The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester, VA
The Details: This was a small wedding…only the parents and grandparents of the bride and groom attended. Therefore I was even more so honored to be chosen to capture LaMar and Sarah’s exchange of vows through photography being one of the few to witness it in person. Once the ceremony ended, we spent the rest of the evening exploring the beautiful Glen Burnie Gardens of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to take some colorful and memorable photos.
