Location and Date: Winchester, VA – February 2011
The Details: With a wedding to shoot this Saturday, I decided to take a couple photographs with a few of the lenses I have to give them a “warm up” after going through the typically slow month of January. Ordinary subject matter…a hermit crab and a “kid” (my daughter), but something I thought I would share regardless. Note: If you look at the enlarged image of her eye, you can see me taking her picture!

Location and Date: Winchester, VA – January 2011
The Details: SNOW! To be honest, I have had my fill of snow for a few years due to the large amounts we received last winter (see photos of that here and here). This was the first significant snowfall of 2011…roughly 8-9″ or so. No where near the amount we received last year, but still enough to make for a nice photo opportunity…especially since I now live on top of a mountain in the woods.

Location and Date: Staunton, VA – January 2011
The Details: January is a traditionally slow month in terms of weddings, but I was fortunate enough to photograph one that was very memorable to me. Zachary and Ashlie will be moving to England to do missionary work, so it was an honor of mine to be able to photograph their wedding day spent in the great state of Virginia! It was cold and windy, but the warm and hospitable personalities of everyone I met at their wedding made for a great way to kick off the 2011 season

The Details: My two girls (4 and 2) have been involved with The Little Gym since they were little. It has really helped them enhance their motor and social skills with other kids their age. This week was “show week” where they get to show us parents everything they have practiced this past semester. Everyone got a medal, and Daddy was there with the camera of course.

Location and Date: Bloomery, WV – December 2010
The Details: Erica found me through Facebook and wanted some portrait photographs of her family taken. Usually I take portrait photographs in a public park or natural area, so when Erica said we could use their property, I was intrigued. What I did not know is that the Keiter’s live in a beautiful wooded area atop a mountain that was perfect for a portrait photograph shoot.

Location and Date: Harpers Ferry, WV – December 2010
The Details: Harpers Ferry was not very crowded on this day for Chris and Larissa’s engagement shoot. It probably had something to do with it being VERY cold with snow flurries in the air. I personally was hoping for a little snowfall, but it didn’t happen. Regardless, Chris and Larissa did wonderfully, and after their daughter got used to “the man behind the camera”, she was all smiles as well.
